1.Control systems are required to achieve countless objectives, among which are: a. efficiency improvement of fossil-based energy systems b. wide utilization of renewable energy systems c. distributed generation and smart grids 2.Many control problems in this area to assure the quality of the power fed into the grid, such as- a. nonlinearity of power electronics devices b. coupling between current and voltage c. harmonics arisen from Pulse-Width Modulation 3.Thus, efficient control of power electronics devices is vital when connecting distributed generations to the grid 4.The systems and control science will coordinate the complex interactions between customers and utility companies as well as provide pricing schemes.
