In this paper, a highly temperature sensitive and ultra-fast response TSP (Temperature-sensitive Paints) for unsteady aerothermodynamics on shock-tube wall is presented. Highspeed wind tunnels such as shock tunnel and shock tube have only a few milliseconds test time, the experiment and the measurement record have to be completed in that time. A newly developed TSP in this research has a high temperature sensitivity which is ~4.0 %/K. The objective of this research is to understand unsteady aerothermodynamic phenomena occurring on shock tube wall. TSP was applied on shock tube wall at the test section. To visualize a thermal oscillation by TSP, a cylinder was attached on TSP-painted wall. The experiment was conducted using a shock tube facility, under the over-tailored condition with a pressure ration of 130 for test gasses of air in driver/driven tubes. The result showed that a new TSP had enough high temperature sensitivity and fast to capture shock waves propagating in the shock tube. Furthermore, a thermal oscillation behind attached cylinder on TSP-painted surface was successfully visualized by TSP.
