摘要

Experiments and computations were performed at M=0.7, to un-derstand the ow features around a regular rectangular cavity havingL/D=3.58. Experiments include oil ow visualisation, measurement ofstatic and unsteady pressures. Computations involve two-dimensionalunsteady compressible RANS solution with k-! SST turbulence modelusing Fluent. The geometric modication to the cavity rear face fromvertical face to a circular shape has been made in this study. It has beenshown that this technique improves the ow quality and reduces cavityow oscillations. The present results will be benecial in the design ofload bays of high speed aircrafts.
