This study demonstrates the effect of filler content over a range of short contact times on the separation of an interface between two SBR layers. At short dwell times, trapped air bubbles act as nuclea-tion points, facilitating the nucleation of cavities which then, due to weak interfaces, propagate as cracks. At longer dwell times, SBR layers interdiftuse leading to a strong interface and bulk deformation upon debonding, with greater work of adhesion.
