Interdependencies between Swiss and neighbouring electricity markets and their impact on electricity prices

1. CH export volumes has not changed much, but decrease in prices in CH etc.2. CH electricity prices are strongly correlated with FR and DE prices→ FR and DE prices as opportunity costs for CH electricity3. In cold winters FR load drives CH prices, in summer all three prices are similar4. Developments in DE, IT and FR (renewables, capacity markets) will influence CH power market5. But: major influence factor will be the carbon and fuel price development6. Outlook: Assessment of hydropower plants considering different regulation in neighbouring countries.
