In this research, we demonstrated the feasibility of creating free-standing, binder-free and mechanically flexible lithium-ion battery anodes from lignin. Using lignin electrodes and gummy electrolytes, flexible solid-state lithium ion batteries were successfully assembled and characterized. The interfacial resistance between the lignin electrode and this solid electrolyte was lower than that between the graphite electrode and solid electrolyte, which would benefit to improve the battery performance.
