COMPARISON OF ELECTRICAL WAVEFORMS OF POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE POLARITY NARROW BIPOLAR EVENTS

摘要

Characteristics of electrical waveforms of 10398 positive narrow bipolar events (+NBEs) and 4473 -NBEs are statistically analyzed and compared. It is found that compared with +NBE, -NBE tends to have smaller pulse width, larger peak electric field and is more frequently isolated with other discharge processes. Based on these differences, along with the source height difference of +NBE and -NBE investigated by previous studies, we discuss preliminarily about the differences of discharge processes of +NBE and -NBE.
