GS Package: A Matlab program for sediment grain-size statistics, classification and plotting

摘要

Although various programs have been used in grain size data postprocessingstudies, there are some limitations that restrict theirapplication. Especially, there is a current lack of programs that easilyprocess raw data from different laser grain size instruments in batchmode. In order to solve these problems, a MATLAB-based graphicaluser interface (GUI) program named GS Package has been developedand implemented. This program aims to provide an easy-to-use andsynthesized solution for the problem of processing the raw data fromdifferent laser grain size instruments in batch mode. The main dataprocessing includes raw data format conversion, processing informationsummary, differential and cumulative distribution exportation,parameter statistics, sediment classification and ternary diagramplotting. The testing results show that it runs well.
