An engineering approach of acoustic loads prediction for a commercial transport aircraft is described and applied in this paper. Starting with the static engine noise data, acoustic loads on ground condition are first estimated by noise propagation principles. Boundary element method is also utilized to account for the scattering effect due to engines' proximity to the wing and fuselage. A jet noise prediction model and fan noise radiation corrections are then incorporated to study engine induced acoustic loads under cruise flight condition. Comparisons with a set of data extracted from flight test are demonstrated in the end as part of the undergoing validation process.
