Due to the real-valued character of the measured impulse response, we propose the real discrete Fourier transform (RDFT) as a natural choice for time gating and removing reflections in antenna measurements. A computer program that applies the proposed algorithm was written. The program has a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) that allows easy visualization and comparison of time and frequency responses, as well as the proper choice of the time-gating window. The results of the software gating, applied on a measurement set-up consisted of two stacked patch antennas, are compared with the measurements in a reference chamber.
