摘要

We propose an upstream PON transmission scheme based on optical carrier suppression at ONU and heterodyne detection at OLT. Simulation results of 25-Gb/s upstream OFDM-PON show a power budget improvement of 8-dB compared to traditional IM-DD scheme. In addition, it is observed that the scheme does not suffer from dispersion-induced power fading in traditional double sideband (DSB) transmission.
