In order to realize a study about the behavior of ultrasonic signals used in flow meters based on transit time method, in this paper, according to the measurement principle described, a didactic plant to flow measurement was assembled and a simple model of this sensor was developed to identify characteristics of the ultrasonic pulses that permit evaluating their responses in this application case. All parts and testing of this work were carried out in a laboratory of an educational institution in order to encourage research on the topic in the future. The circuits used in this study have low complexity and the costs are not expensive. The goal of visualizing the ultrasonic signals and the difference between transit times in both flow directions was obtained. In order to obtain success in these objectives, some circuits experimented and the final topology and results are shown in this paper. The experimental results show that the proposed method is efficient to flow measurement, the error is reduced and the variations of transit time can be easily identified.
