Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are resource confined. Energy is one of the most important resources in such networks. Therefore, flawless use of energy is necessary. In this work, an enhanced scheme is proposed called Fault Tolerant Clustering Protocol for Mobile WSN (FTCP-MWSN) with mobile sensor nodes. This protocol is not only energy efficient but also reliable. Moreover, it does not require any extra time slot for calculating the mobility of sensor nodes and thus, provides faster and reliable data delivery to base station (BS). Simulation results show that FTCP-MWSN protocol has more energy efficiency, throughput, network lifetime and reliability than the existing protocol.
