摘要

The insulation defects in a cable joint may be formed in its manufacturing and long-term operation processes, and will cause the power system faults due to electrical or thermal breakdown of cable insulation. In this work, based on the electromagnetic-thermal coupled theory, the 3-D models of a 64/110 kV power cable joint with and without the presence of insulation defects are set up, then the electromagnetic field analysis used to calculate the power losses and thermal field analysis are completed by using finite element analysis (FEA) method. The research in this paper provide guidance significance for the analysis of insulation properties.
