Naval gun is an important shipborne weapon, therefore the research on combat capability requirement generation (CCRG) of naval gun has very great practical significance. Through decomposing the combat missions of air defense by using naval gun, we can construct the capability index system of naval gun weapon system and build the foundation for achieving the mapping from the task to ability at the microscopic level. Analyzing the mapping relationship between operational activities and capability index could achieve the requirement generation of capability index preliminarily. Capability index not only needs to meet the overall combat effectiveness of military equipment, but also to meet the constraints, therefore, a constrained optimization model is established. Combat capability index is generated from the quantitative point of view through the case simulation of "weapon control" operational activity, and all of these provide a reliable quantitative basis for the construction and development of the naval gun.
