In this paper, we consider beamformer design of access and backhaul links in downlink cloud-RANs. An optimization problem is formulated with the objective of maximizing the weighted sum rate (WSR) under the constraints of power consumption, backhaul rate, as well as user grouping, which assumes each user is served by only one SBS to reduce the traffic load over the backhaul links. To solve this intractable problem, reweighted ℓ1-norm, successive convex approximation and WMMSE-based formulation methods are introduced to transform it into a tractable form. An iterative algorithm based on block coordinate update (BCU) scheme is designed to solve the approximate problem. Finally, simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
