In this paper, a new control strategy¿¿¿fixed freewheeling-time (FFT) control technique for DC-DC converter with fast transient response and high efficiency are studied. The operation of FFT control technique is described. The small signal model of FFT controlled buck converter operating in pseudo-continuous conduction mode (PCCM) is derived, with frequency-domain analysis of the closed-loop control-to-output, output impedance and line-to-output transfer functions simulated by Matlab, which is further compared with conventional constant reference current (CRC) control technique. Finally, the time-domain performances of the two control techniques are analyzed by PSIM. The time-domain simulation results verify the correctness of the frequency-domain analysis.
