Harmonic Amplification Suppression Strategy for Parallel APF

Harmonic current amplification effect threats the safe operation of the parallel APF for voltage-source type nonlinear loads. Limiting harmonic compensation rate can effectively suppress this phenomenon, but the actual load characteristics are flexible and the current harmonic compensation rate does not always match the load. Based on the analyses, a harmonic amplification suppression strategy based on fuzzy controller is proposed in the paper. The fuzzy data table derives from off-line fuzzy controller, and dynamically adjusts the harmonic compensation rate to balance system performance and stability so as to achieve active suppression of harmonic amplification effect. The experimental results validate the effectiveness of the method. This paper provides a new idea for the suppression of harmonic amplification effects.
