The reduced matrix converter (RMC) can be used in the AC-DC hybrid micro grid interface converter, which has the problem of soft cut-off in case of DC short circuit fault. Based on the bipolar current space vector modulation strategy, a zero vector soft cut-off strategy for DC short circuit fault used for RMC is proposed, in which zero vector is inserted to realize zero current soft cut-off in case of short circuit fault. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed strategy has been verified by the waveforms.
