The following article represents results obtained from foundation bearing capacity analysis carried out by international and Kazakhstan researchers. Evaluation of soil bearing capacity that used in USA and Europe based on Terzaghi-Prandl solution and further improvement of Meyerhof. The solutions considered in this article based on an assumption of stiff wedge propagation under foundation base made of compacted soil. Advancing of the following wedge further down impacts on surrounding soil up to the critical state. The use of approximate formulas for bearing capacity determination allowed for derivation from the theory of plasticity or experimental data. The design code for basements and foundations in Kazakhstan is planning to shift into Eurocode "Geotechnics-7". In that case, an approach of foreign researchers used in studies conducted by the authors, analysis of differences between the regulations and principles of design to Eurocode.
