Influence of photoelectric detector on the dynamic range of laser seeker

Based on the influence of the sensitivity and gain control of the photoelectric detector on the dynamic range of the laser seeker, a method for improving the dynamic range of the laser seeker was presented. Firstly the test for measuring the saturated amplitude was built, The influence of sensitivity and saturation amplitude on dynamic range of seeker were obtained; Secondly the relationship between sensitivity, saturation amplitude, gain control and dynamic range were analyzed in theory, and the method for avoiding the saturation of the detector in the process of gain control was designed. The results indicated the method that avoided output voltage of the detector saturated in advance could meet the 5 V gain control of the seeker with a dynamic range of more than 90dB.
