摘要

A hybrid ultra wide band dielectric resonator antenna excited by a fractal monopole is investigated here. By applying the Koch fractal model on the monopole, the overall size of the antenna is reduced a lot without disturbing the overall performances like, high radiation efficiency, low losses, high power handling capacity and increased bandwidth. The above structure is designed using High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) 14.0 v software that operates over a large band ranging 1-40 GHz. However the antenna possess a peak gain of 7.5dBi with a broad side radiation over the entire ange, which will be suitable for multiband and broadband applications.
