摘要

The limitation of the global temperature increase was the main objective of the Climate Change Conference in Paris December 2015 [1]. In addition, a long term plan was launched in Europe aiming at reducing emissions from 1990 to 2030 by 40% [2]. Under developed, and some of the developed countries are facing high unemployment rate, heavy debt burdens and trade constraints, which obstructs sustained growth and social well-being. A crucial source remains for financing energy needs [3]. Thus the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, will supply modern and sustainable services for all developing countries, particularly least developed countries [4]. This paper shows the benefits of Geothermal Energy as one of the renewable resources playing a main role in reducing carbon emissions in developing countries. The objectives of the paper are illustrated through a case study showing projects in Europe and Lebanon as case studies.
