Near-Field Gesture (NFG) is an input method in which asensor tracks in-air gesticulations of a tool or body segment.Examples include the Nintendo Wii, which tracks users'controller movements, the Microsoft Kinect, which tracksusers' major body segments, and the Leap Motion, whichtracks users' hands and fingers. As NFG-based input becomescommonplace, designers must decide whether to employ it ora more traditional input method, such as the mouse.
