摘要

The variational study for AP/HTPB combustion was successful. All main chemical species showed significant variation and distinct behavior during the process, according to each variable inside the chamber (temperature, pressure, composition). When ethanol was mixed with the inlet air, a great enhancement on the performance was observed through the chemical species behavior and final composition. The variational study done shows an optimum mole fraction of ethanol of about 0.2, where there is low contents of HCl and CO, and high contents of the complete reaction products. An enhancement of the proposed system would be the installation of an oxygen tank instead of the atmospheric air capture, which would decrease the emissions and thus increase the global combustion performance.
