Evaluation of voltage stability under loss of voltage control

Synchronous generators and static var compensators were analyzed for the assessment of voltage stability conditions in a power system. The best equivalent models were established for two scenarios: when the voltage control is active and with loss of voltage control. Once the voltage stability indexes were calculated in all cases, the loss of voltage control proved to have a negative impact on voltage stability conditions.
