Superstorm Sandy Emergency Repairs to the Route 37 Viaducts

Following Superstorm Sandy, a special underwater inspection uncovered severe scour damage atseveral piers of these adjacent, major structures, requiring emergency repairs. A fast-track inspection, analysisand design, expedited responses from NJDOT, continuous coordination and excellent team cooperation achievedquick repairs to the worst affected locations, keeping open the much needed access. Emergency repairspreserved not only the most severely undermined piers, but also provided a resilient, long-term repair solution toall the affected piers.
