摘要

In the present study, OpenFOAM has been extended for modellinghydrodynamic performance of a flap-type wave energy converter inviscous flow. The numerical results of the OpenFOAM model havebeen compared with analytical results based on linear potential flowtheory. The effects of nonlinearity and viscosity on the wave-inducedmotion of the oscillating flap are studied as well as the energyabsorbing capacity of the device. Parametric analysis has beenperformed to investigate the dependence of the hydrodynamics of thedevice on the power take-off system.
