Identification Method of Transportation Mode Based on GPS Data

摘要

With the emergence of big data, traffic data processing plays an increasingly important role in transportation research. It is of a great significance to identify travel modes besides mining the travel information data of residents. To provide accurate data of identifying modes of transportation, GPS is needed to digging out the spatial-temporal travel data of residents. Travel data of residents is collected in Chengdu, and Android is used to develop the application of GPS devices of mobile. A fuzzy identification model is used to identify modes of transportation (including walk, bus, car and subway) by comparing the size of the membership degree. The accuracy of identification is a promising 92%, proving that it is feasible to identify transportation mode by GPS data. Ways we developed in this paper meet the demand of transportation research, as well as possible future application in other surveys.
