Searching for Biomarkers Indicating a Development of Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus

The aim of our project is to elucidate the mechanisms of the modulating anti CD4 antibody RIB5/2 on prevention of autoimmune destruction of beta cells in the insulin dependent diabetes mellitus rat model. We especially wish to calculate relative risk coefficients for development of overt diabetes at different time points of life. So far, we have applied decision trees and other classification algorithms like random forest and support vector machines on rather small data sets. Furthermore, feature selection was used to support the genes and biomarkers generated by decision trees.
