摘要

In this paper, we proposed a compact and dual-band antenna based on a planar CRLH unit cell for using in WIFI/WIMAX applications. The antenna contains an interdigital capacitor for series capacitance and a complementary split-ring resonator (CSRR) slot for shunt inductance. Owing to the CSRR slots can be coupled with a mircrostrip to display the CRLH characteristics, the CRLH unit was easily imposed in mircrostrip antenna by the printed circuit board (PCB) technology. The presented structure is compact without using vias or lumped-elements and can be easily excited by a microstrip line. A dual-band antenna operating at a pair of the negative (-1) and positive (+1) modes resonant frequencies was designed at 2.4/3.6GHz by using full-wave simulations, the return loss and radiation patterns were measured to confirm the antenna performance.
