The possibility of spatial spillover effects of transport infrastructure on economic growth was examined in Northwest China, which is analyzed based on spatial spillover theory and Cobb - Douglas production function, using panel data from 1990~2012. The results show that: (1) The output coefficient of local road infrastructure on economy in the Northwest is 0.1325, which means that local highway infrastructure plays a significant role in promoting local economic growth. (2) The output coefficient of ecdemic highway infrastructure on local economy is 0.1512, comes to the conclusion that there is a significant positive spillover effect of ecdemic highwayinfrastructure on local economic growth.
