That major engineering accidents such as slump, large lateral deformation occurred when people constructed fill embankment on sloped weak ground need cause enough attention. This paper comprehensively review the latest research progress of filling embankment over sloped weak ground, including: (1) the definition, causes, characteristics, major diseases; (2) the influencing factors of stability and deformation, engineering treatment measures based on centrifugal model tests, numerical simulation and filed tests; (3) the treatment measures and construction points according to practical engineering; (4) the failure mode and safety assessment methods; (5) combining with my own research, elaborating sloped weak ground can not be simply regarded as the linear superposition of sloped ground and weak ground which are not equal-weight. The engineering of embankment over sloped weak ground is full of challenge and worth further study.
