摘要

The principle of “Mirror Neurons System (MNS)” emphasizes that, the brain mechanism is not only able to acknowledge the actions but as well be able to imitate that actions from an observers own perspective. Thus, the concept of MNS also substantiates the development of motor related cortical activity in the human brain, since the neurons fires when a person observes another's action as though the observer is acting [1-5]. This leads to the objective of this study, which is to explore the encoding mechanism in the brain during movement tasks with respect to an Actual Performer versus Observer movements. Though many technological prosthetic devices are available in the market, motivational aspect to wear and take advantage of all its functionalities is still missing for the user. To accomplish this as an objective, the role of mirror neurons system in the skill development mechanism is being investigated among normal people. This method suggests, that engaging through visual understanding of familiar actions, prosthetic user can be motivated to use their prosthetic devices by mimicking the human - like actions [6]. The mirror neuron concept could be used as an option to provide a better skill development mechanism to help prosthetic device users to learn to use their devices effectively thus contributing to the area of Rehabilitation of Amputees.
