Reflective solar materials in concentrating systems maybe specular or diffuse depending on the intensity level required on the receiver (solar cell module). Highly specular materials give very high reflected intensity and highly diffuse materials are preferred in non-imaging optics. In this paper we show that the decrease in the fill-factor was better for the diffuse material as compared to the specular material although both of them had a 52% increase in power out-put. Further, we show that the horizontal grooves on the reflector gave a better fill-factor than vertical grooves on the reflector while giving a percentage increase of 51% on the power out-put for both groove orientations.
