Great amount of metal wastes from metallurgical and machine-building enterprises creates a problem of their processing (recycling) which is aggravated with toughening of requirements for environment protection. Experience has shown that use of foundry shops traditional furnaces for polluted disperse waste melting is irrational. Processing of steel and pig-iron chips results in capacity loss, excess energy demand, economic parameters degradation and, above all, deterioration of branded alloys quality. But even more complicated problem at waste recycling is restoration of oxide materials: scale, aspiration dust, slimes etc. In metallurgy, great attention is paid to questions of direct (out of blast-furnace) restoration of oxides. In recent years, more than 20 options of installations of this kind have been constructed. Unfortunately, it's impossible to use them in foundry production. Collecting waste from hundred enterprises to supply it to steel works demands creation of advanced periphery.
