Energy saving in centrifugal pumps using mutual pressure and flowrate control

The new energy management methodology for centrifugal pumps is offered based on mutual throttling and speed control. The procedures for system learning and system operation are designed focused on the energy model of the pumping station. In contrast to the traditional pumping, at which either the flowrate or pressure is fixed, the developed hybrid approach provides minimal energy consumption within an acceptable operation region. An appropriate software was designed in Python with the help of the SQLite database and PymodBus for ModbusTCP communication. Experimental study confirms energy saving benefits of the proposed system.
