1. A general workflow has been proposed to derive macroscopic flow properties for Ecoshale capsule 2. It is based on a rigorous upscaling strategy and statistical approach 3. Results shows that standard deviation on investigating properties is small → only one sample is sufficient for engineering perspectives 4. Permeability tensor can be assumed diagonal 5. Darcy-Forchheimer seems to be appropriate for inertial regime 6. Kozeny-Carman correlation gives the order of magnitude for non-inertial flow but does not provide the anisotropy ratio.
