1.4-1.7 /spl mu/m, 2 ps white pulse generation for multiwavelength pulse source using supercontinuum in a single-mode optical fiber

摘要

A white pulse laser source which outputs 2 ps pulses with peak powers 1.1 W over a spectral range from 1.4 to 1.7 /spl mu/m is presented. It is based on supercontinuum generation in a single-mode optical fiber pumped at the near-zero-dispersion wavelength by a subpicosecond pulse from an Er/sup 3+/-doped fiber ring laser.
