This paper presents a distributed control strategy for Panel to Panel (P2P) transfer method in Modular Differential Power Processing (mDPP). There can be a coupling effect between the different PV panels when mDPP is implemented. To mitigate this coupling effect, a voltage inner loop and power outer loop control strategy is proposed to track the maximum power point of the PV panel as well as convert only the differential power between mismatched PV modules. The simulation results validate the stability and MPPT accuracy. Hardware prototype is built and exhibits performance advantages.
