This paper presents a computer-aided design for the class-E switching circuits taking into account optimized inductor designs. The proposed design algorithm provides the element values for satisfying the multiple constrain conditions. Simultaneously, the optimal inductors, which have a minimum volume for achieving the permissible power conversion efficiency, are obtained. A design example of the multi-resonant dc/dc converter with the class-E ZVS/ZDS conditions is given. By carrying out the circuit experiment, it is shown that the designed converter satisfied class-E ZVS/ZDS conditions, specified output voltage, and permissible power conversion efficiency simultaneously, which verify the validity and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. The measurement power conversion efficiency achieved 94.0% for 4.92 W (7.0 V/0.70 A) output power and 1 MHz operation.
