Design of Stone Matrix Asphalt Using Leather Waste

摘要

This paper describes the efficiency of chrome shavings (CS) as stabilizing additive indesign of Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA) mix. The CS fibre at the rate of 0.46% (w/w) asstabilizing additive provided SMA with increased tensile property and unconfined compressivestrength. This clearly indicates and confirms that the fibrous nature of the CS remains native andcontributed to the stabilization of SMA where the bitumen concentration was as high as 6.4% (byweight of aggregates of SMA mix).
