This year, the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE) celebrates its 25th Anniversary. ISEE originated in 1987 when approximately 50 epidemiologists met at the Society for Epidemiological Research in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. Epidemiologists and experts interested in environmental epidemiology and exposure assessment discussed the need for an international scientific organization devoted to these two strongly interrelated fields.
