After successfully developing a Travel Time Engine for the Northern Virginia Traffic Operations Center, Open Roads Consulting, Inc. (ORCI) was tasked by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to develop and deploy a statewide Travel Time Engine which could easily be integrated into multiple applications statewide thus reducing the time and effort needed to achieve the reliable reporting of travel time throughout the state. The Travel Time Engine integrates travel time data from multiple sources and enables business users to configure how the data is fused together to generate segment travel times.
