For the numerical simulation of flow induced sound generated by rotating structures we investigate a hybrid finite volume, finite element (FE) method with a special focus on the FE part. We give an aeroacoustic analogy, which is well suited for applications in the low Mach number regime and focus on a stable finite element scheme for computing the acoustic wave propagation on rotating grids using the given analogy. Finally, we apply the complete method to simulate the acoustic field of a side channel blower.
