This paper studies underdetermined direction of arrival (DOA) estimation accuracy by sum and difference composite co-array. We have studied to further enhance the DOF by combining the concepts of the sum co-array and the difference co-array, which is called “sum and difference composite coarray”, and evaluated its beamforming performance. We aim at investigating if the sum and difference composite co-array also works well for underdetermined DOA estimation problems. Performance of the proposed array configuration is evaluated through computer simulation of DOA estimation.
