Gas sensing is a wide diffused need in several contexts. Just to give some examples, detection of NO and NO_2 is adopted for monitoring and controlling exhaust from automobiles; CO, CO_2, NO_x, H_2S, and CH_4 detection are required for environmental protection, safety, and process control in homes, industries, agriculture, and mine; and NO detection is mandatory for the estimation of physiological responses of human body.
