A Ripple-free Input Current Boost Converter With Asymmetric Voltage Multiplier cell for Distributed PV Generation Systems

In this paper, a novel zero-ripple input current high step-up Boost converter is proposed, which is integrated with a novel auxiliary passive clamped network and a novel asymmetric voltage multiplier cell. The novel auxiliary passive clamped network is used to realize continuous zero-ripple input current and zero current switching (ZCS) on switch. Besides, this network can recycle the energy stored in the leakage inductor of the coupled inductor and suppress the spike voltage to improve the efficiency. The asymmetric voltage multiplier cell is used to improve the voltage conversion. The operating principles and the steady-state analysis are described in detail. Finally, a 40V input voltage, 400V output voltage, and 400W output power prototype circuit at 50 kHz switching frequency is implemented in the laboratory to verify the performance of the proposed converter.
