Trench strengthening in the restrained conditions of urban development with allowance for the magnitude 8 seismic loads

New construction in the restrained urban conditions of Yalta is faced with the necessity of taking into account the existing buildings and facilities around the construction project, green plantations and communications in addition to the natural factors. Not only their presence, but also their conditions and historical and cultural values are of great importance as well. The manufacture of the trench strengthening structures is considered based on the practical example of the construction project. In the geomorphological aspect the surveyed area is located within the central part of a landslide having the 210-m length along the sliding axis, 400-m length in front and a 8,4-ha area. Within its limits the landslides of higher order have been found. The small distance between the existing facility and the wall of the designed building of the commerce and office center is about 2,0 m in the abutment place. In 2012 the project has been completed and is now successfully operating.
