Occurance of Oscillations in Transmission System of Slovakia

Oscillations seem to be always present in the interconnected transmission system of continental Europe. There are ways to damp them, most of which are used in Europe system, but despite the effort of transmission system operators, the operational experience proves that oscillations threatening the system stability can still arise. Examples of such are oscillations from December 1^{st, 2016. Therefore, it is vital to monitor the presence of oscillations in the system and actively control them. Transmission system operator of Slovakia has, available for this task, a wide area monitoring system, which can evaluate parameters of the oscillations and warn the operators. This paper deals with the options of the system and shows modes of present oscillations.}
